Footwear and apparel company, Skechers, is expanding into three development sites within two separate municipal jurisdictions: the Hermosa Beach site and Manhattan Beach site. The facilities will accommodate future expansion and showrooms for conference events hosted by Skechers twice a year. The expansion will create 655 new jobs within the two cities.

Glumac is performing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering services at the Hermosa Beach site, which includes a 100,000 square foot Design Center and 20,000 square feet of Executive offices with underground parking for 609 vehicles; both buildings are three stories in height.

The Design Center includes showrooms, product development rooms, general offices, conference rooms, shoe libraries, and a private-company cafeteria. In addition to office space, the Executive Offices building includes a patio, lobby, and Wi-Fi lounge, showers for employees, as well as product development rooms and a management dining area.

The Design Center and Executive Offices will be connected by an underground pedestrian tunnel. The project will also include undergrounding of utilities, improvements to benches, sidewalks and bus stops.
