Hyundai Motors North American Headquarters

Fountain Valley, California, United States

  • Overview

The project consists of a new ground up six-story office building of approximately 400,000 square feet with a two-level 70,000 square foot Tech Center Building will be attached to the office tower. There is also an adjacent five level, 1,350 car open parking structure.

Glumac provided MEP Engineering for both shell and core and tenant improvement. Our services included daylighting modeling and design, fire alarm, information technology, radiant heating and cooling, and atrium smoke control design.

Glumac’s design also included submetering of every electrical circuit, as well as gas and water connections in the building to verify performance and detect problems as they occur. The atrium smoke exhaust fans also provide building pressure relief during operation; saving Hyundai first cost expense on purchasing additional fans. These exhaust fans also prevent heat build-up in the atria, which are 98% glass.
