Nike World Headquarters

Beaverton, Oregon, United States

  • Overview
  • Process

Glumac has been heavily involved with the development of Nike’s Beaverton, Oregon’s 213-acre campus, supporting Nike’s expansion goals of sustainable building design throughout.

Glumac provided MEP engineering services for Nike’s Jerry Rice, Ken Griffey Jr, Lance Armstrong, Nolan Ryan, and Mia Hamm buildings, as well as the Tiger Woods Conference Center, which together total some 1.2 million square feet of office space, design labs, multimedia studios, manufacturing facilities, and fitness facilities. Each building was outfitted with occupancy sensors for HVAC and lighting to help mitigate unnecessary energy usage. The Jerry Rice building exceeded the Oregon State Energy code by 20 percent and received the “Green Building Service Award.” In addition, Glumac helped the Ken Griffey Jr building – a three-story facility with dedicated office space – achieve LEED Gold certification and qualified as a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Energy Star Building.

The 140,000-square-foot Tiger Woods Conference center at Nike houses an 800-seat auditorium that features an innovative underfloor air distribution system that lowers overall air flow rates, thus conserving energy and providing a high-level of occupant comfort. It also proved to be a dramatic cost-saving measure for Nike, eliminating the need for some $158,000 in overhead duct work.
