Portland Public Schools Benson Polytechnic High School Modernization

Benson Polytechnic High School is Portland Public Schools (PPS) only Comprehensive Focus Option High School, serving students from all PPS neighborhoods. Benson’s CTE programs include Arts & Communications, Health Occupations, and Industry & Engineering. This diverse array of programs meant unique needs for each classroom, to meet the needs and expectations of students and faculty.

Glumac provided Electrical and Technology Integration/Low-Voltage design services for the complete renovation of the 375,000 sf polytechnic high school. The campus is a designated Portland Historic Landmark, meaning special considerations needed to be taken in design of systems to preserve the structure’s historical integrity. Glumac was able to determine a way to include rooftop photo-voltaic array while maintaining the look expected of the historic campus.
