Brookfield Properties Net Zero Roadmap
United States
Brookfield contracted with Glumac to help them identify long-term value for their largest and most operationally intensive buildings across their U.S. portfolio. We provided a roadmap for these buildings and their broader asset portfolio to work toward a net zero future.
The Brookfield Net Zero Roadmap identified energy efficiency measures and retrofit opportunities for 12 existing skyscrapers with more than 15,000,000 combined square feet of occupied space throughout the United States. Engineering analysis provided recommended measures to reduce each building’s operational carbon emissions and quantified the amount of emissions that would still need to be offset after project implementation to reach Net Zero Carbon for the entire portfolio. The analysis produced by the effort is intended to be a living document to guide capital investments and real estate decisions for the property management corporation through 2050.
