University of California San Francisco Hematology, Blood, and Marrow Transplant Clinic
San Francisco, California, United States
Glumac is providing commissioning services for the University of California San Francisco Ambulatory Care Center Blood Marrow Transplant Expansion project. The goal is to expand the Hematology and Blood and Marrow Transplant Outpatient Clinic at the Parnassus Heights campus site. The project includes the demolition and renovation of a portion of the 3rd and 4th floors in an existing multistory building.
The 3rd floor will accommodate new exam rooms, reception areas, patient restrooms, and back of house service areas. The space includes new mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and controls systems with no changes to the base building systems.
Thanks to the architectural design, the use of active chilled beams in the clinic was made possible, as the space does not experience big temperature fluctuations. Significant coordination was needed to connect into UCSF’s network, and Glumac is working closely with both UCSF and the controls contractor to verify accurate communication that allows both parties to work effectively. Glumac additionally coordinated with general contractor and their team, keeping the project on track and moving forward.
