Stocker Street Creative
Los Angeles, California, United States
Stocker Street Creative (SSC), which plans to forge significant partnerships with Hollywood studios, is a new entertainment production facility, designed for use as a cultural hub for small and independent creators, writers, and filmmakers, and as a gathering place for the community.
As one of the first redevelopment projects of this magnitude, which includes the re-imagining of the landmark Baldwin Hills/Crenshaw area, SSC’s goal is to build a community-focused creative campus that drives economic development through business incubation, high-quality film/TV studio production, innovative entertainment services, non-profit partnerships, and industry-specific professional development.
Through efforts between both top African-American developers and diverse South Los Angeles development, SSC is in line with 4S Bay Partner LLC’s social impact and community development mission: to increase economic development with under-served and urban communities.
The project site plan includes four buildings (four TV/movie studios; one office building; one mixed-use building housing studio support (makeup, hair, etc., and leasable office) with a parking structure. Additionally, the facility will accommodate meetings, workshops, panel discussions, and various other events held by community members. A rooftop area will be used for luncheons, banquets and social events. On-site restaurants will offer seating where filmmakers and creatives alike can network and brainstorm ideas. Local artists can showcase their art and sculptures along with spotlighting other creative projects within the studio space.
