Gaylord Pacific Resort and Convention Center

Nestled along the bay in Chula Vista and designed to offer a luxurious guest experience, the Gaylord Pacific Resort and Convention Center is a premier hospitality project spanning 36.6 acres and nearly 2 million square feet.

Features

  • Hotel: At 500,000 sf, 22-stories with 1,600 luxury guest rooms including 89 suites is the largest on the West Coast
  • Resort amenities: Gaylord’s signature atrium, multiple restaurants, sports bar, speakeasy, local artwork, resort-style pools, 4.25 acre water park with waterslides, a wave pool, lazy river, and a 7,500 sf fitness center, full-service salon and spa, and additional recreation facilities
  • Convention center: 600,000 sf, four ballrooms, three levels of meeting space, and two outdoor meeting and event lawns
  • Parking garage: 500,000 sf

Glumac served as the Commissioning Authority, overseeing the commissioning process to verify the building’s systems operate seamlessly and align with the original design intent. Glumac developed a comprehensive Commissioning Plan, conducted system performance tests, and meticulously documented findings throughout the process.

Commissioned Systems

  • HVAC systems and controls: Condenser water, chilled water, heating hot water, air handling units, rooftop units, VAV terminal units, fan coil units, water source heat pumps, split systems, exhaust fans, vertical fan coil units, building management, direct digital control system
  • Plumbing systems: Domestic hot/cold water, compressed air, fire pumps
  • Electrical systems: Electrical distribution systems, indoor lighting systems and controls
  • Other systems: Landscape irrigation
