citizenM Downtown Los Angeles
Los Angeles, California, United States
Located at the northwest corner of 4th and Spring Street, the new modern hotel by Amsterdam-based citizenM marks the third modular hotel as part of its aggressive expansion across the United States and the first modular high-rise in Los Angeles.
Geared towards millennials, international travelers, and “mobile citizens” who travel frequently to urban centers near public transportation such as downtown Los Angeles, the structure, using modular construction, is made up of prefabricated rooms that were craned into place like building blocks and shipped from overseas. This allows the 315 guest rooms within the 11-story building to be identical in terms of size and amenities; each including wall-to-wall windows, king-size beds, and a tablet, which controls the room’s television, temperature and blinds.
The customization of each citizenM is focused on its common areas. When guests arrive to check in, they are directed into a common area marketed as a “living room,” which includes a curated mix of furniture, books, artwork, as well as a canteen and bar serving food and drinks. Additionally, citizenM features five meeting rooms along 4th Street along the ground floor and other common areas at the roof level include a fitness center and terrace deck.
