The Louisa Flowers
Portland, Oregon, United States
The Louisa Flowers is one of Portland’s largest affordable housing developments built in the last 50 years. At 12 stories with 240 units, the building sits in the bustling Lloyd District, near ample public transit. On the ground level 6,500 sf of retail space help create inclusion and connection with the surrounding community. Residents can access a wide variety of amenities and support including self-sufficiency training.
Glumac provided Design-Assist scope, design performance specifications, peer review, commissioning, and oversight for the smoke control system commissioning process.
As part of the scope, Glumac performed energy modeling and building performance modeling. The purpose was two pronged. First the modeling was able to identify areas for energy improvement during the early design process, saving time in the future and working from the start to build an efficient space. Second, the modeling was able to be used to procure incentives for building performance.
