Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) David Geffen Galleries
Los Angeles, California, United States
Over the last two decades, Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) has sought to encounter and embrace all of the communities of Los Angeles and the world’s traditions. The goal is to make the experience of their collection richer and more accessible than prior, while ensuring that the museum can be a place of reflection, expression, and empathy for everyone.
Nestled in Hancock Park, the new 350,000 square-foot, two-story, permanent collection building, David Geffen Galleries, will feature parts of LACMA’s collections, libraries, education studios, restaurants, retail spaces, and theater, enabling access to cultural programming through the course of the day within its pavilions. The main exhibition level will lookout to the park and Wilshire Boulevard and provide engagement with the collection of sculptures and other less light-sensitive work.
