RagingWire Colocation Data Center
Santa Clara, California, United States
Glumac was the lead designer on a new data center facility for a colocation provider in Santa Clara, California. We provided a complete Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and IT/Low Voltage design. The new data center is multi-storied with four (4) 10,000 square foot hall vaults totaling 16 MW total critical power. This Tier III facility isbe cooled via roof top economizing chillers and distributed Vault CRAH’s. High supply air temperature and close approach cooling coils, coupled with the mild climate, yields a highly efficient cooling system without the need to filter large amounts of outside air. The electrical system utilizes two (2) separate sets of four (4) electrical systems. Each set has a catcher system, for N+1 redundancy and concurrent maintainability. The facility will receive power from an on-site customer owned 30MVA utility substation. Tetra Tech and the entire design team overcame multiple challenges, both internally and externally including an evolving team and system design challenges, none of which hindered a successful deliver that is moving into Phase 2, 4th floor delivery ahead of schedule.
